MATES
When you grow up in the country, you dream of the city. When you meet the friends that you fall in love with for the first time, you dream of a road trip. “Mates” is the story of that first adventure. A hastily packed car, full of more snacks than clothes, a half-empty gas tank, a perfect mix tape and a city I had never seen before. Few moments in my life have ever felt as full of wonder, contentment and anticipation as the backseat of that car, sandwiched between friends, watching the stars fly by.
US VS. THEM
“Us vs. Them” is a song about Sahara’s experiences as a court-appointed child advocate. She saw how little our country spends on helping people who need it most, and how things need to change. Against the backdrop of an American election, we think it’s time for people to start caring for something more than themselves.
